What happens to Lori?

I remember seeing CM2 when I was a kid and being disappointed that Lori (the chick from the first movie) wasn't in it. However, I can't remember what storyline they used to explain her absence. Did she leave Danner b/c he couldn't give her kids or deal with the fact that he was a machine, or did she die from old age and the story take place after her death?
