Mary-Louise Parker - the best performance ever

She just made me cry.

I saw her in Fried Green Tomatoes, and she was good. The next thing I saw her in was A Place for Annie. The next was Longtime Companion. She was adequate in FGT, and inLTC, but her performance in Annie should have been nominated for an award. For once she made her lazy speech work for the character. A weary drug addict, cut off from everything, just tring to touch something that she can look at as something she might have done right. Sissy Spacek is wonderful as the self righteous nurse/savior, who comes to find out that not everyone can do what she has achieved. The scene in the morning, in the the kitchen, after Linda has almost burned down the house, and David turns on the radio is the heart of this movie. He takes Annie out of her high chair and dances with her, then hands her off to the nanny, who hands her off to Susan, and then for the first time Linda hugs and dances with her daughter. Strong. Justine's death in Grand Avenue is the only other scene that affected me in the 90's as much.

Totally agree.. She SHOULD have been nominated, and SHOULD have been recognized earlier.
