Wait... Rocky Is On The Side of The Road?

How the hell is Rocky just sitting there on the side of the road when they left her BACK in that town? She said she wasn't going anywhere till she finished what she had to do, so even if she left a little while after them how did she get in FRONT of them to just be sitting on the side of the road?
