I think the worst was Heartbeat.. I don't know, I love them all.

I agree!

And this is ironic because Perfect Stranger is my favorite Danielle Steel book.

Robert Urich was great in this movie. He was cast perfectly as Alex Hale.

Stacy Haiduk is a beautiful actress, yet not at all right for this part.

A better choice would have been a Barbara Carrera look-alike, someone dark and mysterious, lovely and elegant like the Raphaella in the book.

And then to make Raphaella Swiss!!!! What???? How terrible to do that!

Raphaella's charm was her mixture of French and Spanish. This was intergral to the plot. (Nothing against the Swiss)

Another thing that ruined this movie was making Amanda Alex's daughter.
This made the movie heavy where it didn't need to be.

The other minor plot changes added together really drove this movie so far away from the loveliness of the book.

Yes, another beautifully written tender love story of lost and love and strength and virtue ruined.

PLEASE! Somebody remake this movie and do it right!!

I agree totally. Usually I enjoy the Danielle Steel movie adaptations more than the books (personal movie favorites are Crossings, Family Album, and Changes), but in this case, it made a relationship that seemed absolutely beautiful in the book (making it my favorite Danielle Steel book) seem slimey (making it my least favorite).

I was so excited when I found out that both Robert Ulrich (who I loved in Vega$ and Spenser for Hire) and Holly Marie Combs (who I loved in Picket Fences) were going to be part of it, but was terribly disappointed.

A remake of this movie done right would be so wonderful, even if I can't imagine anyone but Robert playing Alex.
