have seen similar movie, please confirm it is this one

I was asking for the title of a movie in the "I need to know" topic today, and someone told me this movie could be it.

http://us.imdb.com/board/bd0000001/flat/49271600?d=49271600#49271600

is the topic.

This is what I remember from the movie :

I think in 2001 or 2002 I saw the last part of this film. - There was a man captured in a( western?) city (USA, UK?) by a group. They restrained him, possibly in a hotel room, and said 'ever heard of the Mossad' or something.
- The only real form of torture I saw applied onto him was spinning his chair around, probably while the man was blindfolded.
- It could be that a certain artwork (painting) was involved and that the man was making shady dealings or something, but this is VERY UNCERTAIN. It is possible they captured him as part of an undercover operation.
- The man seems to give in, and he receives a ticket for a boat. He is dropped off at the harbour, but the boat is not there, and he starts to panick. He is then shot, I think by a man from the same group of people that captured him. I think we also saw a woman in a car very nearby, and she was looking quite emotional, maybe the shooter went to her. It was as if that shot was 'settling some unfinished business'.
- When the movie ends, we are either shown in text, or it is said, that during the first Gulf war (thus early nineties) Saddam fired Scuds into Israel.

The weird thing is that I am not 100% that this movie was in English, if not, it was in French.

So was this movie 'les patriotes' or 'the patriots?'.

Thank you.

I think that the movie you are talking about is "K", a French film that was released in 1997. The lead actor is Patrick Bruel, a well-known singer/actor in France.
