Sandra Extercatte (Majani)

Seriously, am I the only one obsessed with this woman? She's in four films in the 1990's - early 1990's - and then, poof! Gone! I mean, gone as in not showing up anywhere by either of her names, Extercatte and Majani.

She was a model in Holland (where she's from - Les Pays-Bas: the Low Countries), and then she tried acting and made it all the way up to being in a film by Patrice Leconte after which point she...what? Flew to Mars? Went to live in the Andes? What the hell happened to this stunning girl? Today she would only be in her early-mid 40's, right? Still, I am sure, gorgeous.

Obviously she quit acting and now is past the age of modeling, international haut couture anyway. But what did she end up doing? Marry and have kids? Makes sense, perhaps the most sense. But I remain fascinated by this ephemeral creature not the least because of this wonderful Leconte film. I'm sure the director knows what happened to her, but in interviews he doesn't address anything beyond the actual filming of the scenes - if you're interested you need to watch the interviews in the Special Features.

OK. I got a little carried away. I know it. It happens. But I remain interested in knowing something more about this young actress who appeared and then disappeared seemingly without a ripple. I'd also love to know of any other Leconte interviews in which he further discusses this movie. The central theme and the two main characters continue to haunt me. Brilliant film in a way though not, I would say, one of his best. I know how contradictory that sounds.
