Widescreen DVD version

Why the heck isn't this movie available in a widescreen format on DVD? Everywhere I find it, it is full screen only. Isn't that one of the main points of the DVD format? Especially for a movie directed by someone like Ron Howard who specifically frames so many of his shots for the theatrical format. You can find practically EVERY OTHER movie in widescreen on DVD? Why not this one? A modern movie direcred by one of today's more popular directors?

That is strange, even stranger that there's no "special edition" in the works. It wasn't a big hit, but it has a following - especially among journalists and journalism majors. It's kind of like "Wall Street" for J-school majors.

I usually don't buy full-screen movies, but I had to have this one. I can't believe no one talks about it anymore.

You would think that Universal would take care of their "golden boy" director Ron Howard by re-releasing this movie with a new anomorphic transfer and better audio and all that, but apparently not. This movie was one of the earliest DVD releases for Universal, back when the DVDs had almost nothing on them, and they've never gone back and re-issued it. Get off your ass, Universal DVD, and give this movie a proper release!

Strange. The UK region 2 edition is in 16:9 widescreen, remastered, and looks incredibly good compared to the old VHS edition.

Probably the best we'll get unless Keaton's Birdman accolades incite a rerelease or Blu Ray.
