PULSE

After having the VHS version of PULSE since 1995, this is now one of my favourite concerts on DVD. This concert without out a doubt is one of the best LIVE shows in concert history. Not only do u get a complete showdown of technical creativity, but u also get to witness the mastery of David Gilmour. They may not be the best in showmanship as far as LIVE gigs go, but when Pink Floyd get the chance to "Jam" on stage, they do it with the utmost gusto and they do it so well and thier technical accuracy is unsurpassed. This is by without a doubt one of the best live shows ever, if not the best live gig in the modern era.
From the moment of Shine On, till Run Like Hell, u are hooked. I have my favourites, but Im a classic PINK FLOYD balled nut, Sorrow, Comfortably Numb (And u even get On The Turning Away as a bootleg)
and u cant dispute the entirity of DSOTM. This is a great DVD even for Floyd nutters but also novices of a new generation.

I agree that this DVD is incredible. My favorite way to watch it is on the surround sound with all the lights out to better enjoy the light show along with the music blasting from the speakers.

As for their showmanship, I have never enjoyed rock musicians who use makeup and wild antics as gimmicks to sell their acts. Just like the Eagles in the Hell Freezes Over DVD, I'm more impressed that they're just geniusly gifted musicians ... wearing ordinary clothes ... who stand there and do what they do best.

Totally agree about the ordinary clothes... when you're a guitar god, you don't go out on stage in your new penny-loafers and a $100,000 suit to play Comfortably Numb... you wear whatever you want and let the instrument do the talking.
