Just What the HELL Was Roger Ebert's Problem ???

I realize it's not nice to speak ill of the dead, but just what was Ebert's problem ???

YES, this film was not great, YES it could be annoying, and YES, it was from a director who usually had, and probably should have delivered more...........but COME ON !!! This thing was NOWHERE near the piece of unadulterated garbage he paints it to be.

Who knows, maybe the day Rob Reiner shows up at the gates of heaven (hell ??), Roger Ebert will be the first one there to greet him, hand outstretched, to simply say, "Nice to see you again...........Oh, and sorry about all the "North" rants. I was wrong, and I'm sorry. 

SAVE FERRIS

He thought it was ethnically demeaning. One scene made fun of African natives. He was married to an Afro-American woman. He may have felt a need to assuage her reaction, in case she was offended. But, I never read that she was.

This film was nothing to get so childishly upset over as Ebert did. His review seemed more like an exaggerated tempter tantrum than critique of a mediocre family film. It was no different than a film like Camp Nowhere or Clifford - which all were released around the same time and of a similar style of film making that was meant to a appeal to ''children''.

I think something more was going on with this, I think Roger had some type of feud with Rob and was really out to trash his movie.

Why children in quotation marks?

No sense of humor, I guess.

Maybe he was just hungry.
