Rain then Snow then Rain

In any northern township in this hemisphere, if you have a night with rain (Sully's first stop and look at Bowdin Street)then what looks like a very cold day with flurries, then another night with rain ( Sully and Peter at Bowdin Street on the way home from robbing Tip Top) then you'd end up with black ice on every road in the area, yet they never seemed to have to deal with it. I know it's a minor point, but I had my very very first wreck EVER on black ice, and have become a minor expert on the treacherous stuff, lol...

I too found this distracting, and cannot determine why they would have it rain only during both car scenes by the house. Is is a mistake or intentional? In real life, with so much rain, there would not be much snow left the next day, and there also would be puddles on the ground. Also, with most Northern weather patterns, it would rain by day and snow at night during that time of the year (late autumn going into January).

It seems like such an obvious error that it took me out of the story for a few minutes both times.

They didn't shoot this movie in Hollywood but most of them probably lived there. They didn't know northern weather. Black ice was first talked about in the early 90's. We (in Michigan) all knew what it was but didn't put a name on it. They were dealing with a snowstorm during shooting so maybe give the California weenies a little break.
