People who don't like this movie are people who don't like interesting prison movies.
If you like prison movies, this is a great movie to see, it won't let you down.
you have a good guy, you have a bad guy, you have a goal, you have friendships, it's a really great film and those who are interested in it cause of the name and the concept will LOVE this movie, so ignore all the critics, this IS a Great prison movie
As films go, this is a terrible film. The plot and every scene in it is a cliche of every prison, sci fi, post apocolyptic film going.

Thing is, I like this film because of the very things you mentioned. Its a fun film. Terrible movie? Not for me I'm afraid.

Hey some people do like movies for the reason that they are kind of crappy, yet fun.
It is a terrible movie, but like i said, if there was nothing else on, id watch it, like i did. I certainly would chose it over cleaning or being shot ;)
It is a good entertaining film....dosent try to be too complex or artistic...at least it is visually pleasing some films are neither well put together or entertaining...be grateful it has one of the two.
