Thoughts From the Year 2011

I remember seeing this when it came out, so I was happy to re-watch it when it popped up on Netflix recently.

I've read a lot of reviews concerning the plot holes in the film. Usually I'm the first to want to point out flaws in a plot but for some reason I just don't care with this one. Although, I will concede that some of the plot holes others have mentioned are definitely there.

I thought it was well acted, especially for a film in this genre. Maybe that's why I was able to look past certain inconsistencies.

By the way, does anyone know where Ray Liotta went? I thought he was a solid actor. I know he's been in some stuff, but I thought he'd be in some award winning roles, if you get what I'm saying.

And did you notice the reference to Robbins action in 'Bengazi, Libya in 2011'? Very prescient of them !

reply

I didn't. I like when older films make a prediction on the future that almost (or ambiguously does) becomes true. Anyway, it's good to know that Ray Liotta is on the case. Too bad he ends up on that horrible island in eleven years.

I'm watching it right now and noticed the same thing. Very prescient indeed!

Eerily prescient indeed.
The Libyan revolution broke out in Benghazi in 2011. Scores of civilians were gunned down by military, paramilitary and, reportedly, mercenary personnel.
An alarm went off in my head after watching this movie for the first time since 98 or so.
Things like this and The Long Kiss Goodnight 9/11 reference make you wonder if there are some who know things the rest of us don't!

Nexflix was streaming in 2011? Thought they only had DVDs then.
