Was there references to this martial arts legend in this film? If not should there been-(i.e.Julie asks "Who's your father-Bruce Lee?")

Reasons why Bruce Lee is not mentioned in Karate Kid;
1.Bruce Lee is Chinese, Myagi is Japanese.
2.Bruce Lee was born in 1940, while Myagi fought in World War 2 (1941-1945)
3.Despite taking part in Karate champion ships, Lee was most known for creating Jeet Kune Do and that was the art he used the most.
4.Despite being known as a legend of martial arts, Bruce Lee is only one of the many legends that have taken part in this ancient tradition. And despite being a pop culture icon, the art itself has existed before and after his life.

Ummm, just to correct you on point 2, World War 2 was actually 1939-1945 It had been going a little over 2 years before the US entered the war.
shareI know when the World War was at, Myagi was a US Citizen so I listed when he most likely entered the war. :)
