Why wasnt Ralph Macchio in this movie? Even though it still wouldve been awful it would have been better than with Hillary Swank.

be cause was 34 and he actually looked his age when he played in the other karate kids he looked younger than he was.

Nahhhh!!!!!

There's got to be a better reason why "Machio" turned down "The NEXT Karate Kid." I am talking about him making a cameo, or walk on role, not the lead.

I imagine that it may have to do with him wanting more serious roles, and fear of being typecast as 'Daniel San,' and other teenage roles.

I recently saw him in an "E-Special" or "Vh-1" about teen idols, and boy does he look old now. He has this huge receeding hairline. I guess time has finally caught up with him. But its not all bad though.

I hate to say this but everything I have seen Hillary Swank in has sucked besides Iron Jawed Angels. That was excellent, I can't think of any other actress that would have been pefectly cast for the part of Alice Paul in that movie. One of my favorites. But everything else she has been in...sucked ass.

Million Dollar Baby was good. IMO, anyway. YMMV.

And yet she is 2-0 in the Oscars.
She won the Best Actress Oscar for Boys Don't Cry (1999) and Million Dollar Baby (2004) that won her a Golden Globe and a SAG Award, as well as her second Academy Award. She is two for two at the Oscars.

Why 'demean' yourself by accepting being 'demoted' to a cameo when you were the best thing about the original series??!

he probably wasn't asked, well it is the next karate kid. but they should've made him her father, but he still wouldn't be in the movie because her parents died.

34 doesn't look any different from 29 which is what he was during karate kid 3

He must have been asked but wasn't interested since he didn't want to be the slyvester stallone of karate kid movies.
