Am I the only one?

I saw this movie today in class and I hated it so much. Her little speech at the end was pointless and had nothing to do with the movie or anything else, for that matter. The dialogue throughout the movie was stilted and the acting was wooden and unconvincing. I mean, those are all great actors, but they did not do a good job in this one. WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT?

Anyone agree?

What kind of movie would you find to be a good one, then? Nell was one of the best films I've ever watched. It was very touching and Jodie Foster was magnificent.

"the acting was wooden and unconvincing"
Jodie Foster turned in an absolute stellar performance IMO..
"WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT?"
My God beesting, were your emotions completely supressed and/or asleep??

I'm right there with you this movie is so cloying. I can't imagine someone on set didn't say "WTF? are we making". It's big name actors hanging on a hallmark movie of the week frame.

And you could do better?

You're not the only one.

yeah this movie is comedically bad lol. i laugh my ass off every time i watch it. i saw it in psych class for my first time too. i especially like when she's yelling "tay in da winnnnnddddd" hahaha. I dont care if i seem insensitive lol that *beep* was just ridiculous. and your right the ending was pointless. liam neeson's character struggled the whole movie to understand nell, then out of nowhere, he can understand everything she says, translating it into perfect english for the courtroom scene. so no, you are not the only one, and the one's who say this movie is magnificent need to go watch some better films.
