why dont some people find mickey and mallory likeable?

I mean sure they were some sadistic freaks, but they were also sort of victims of society like most killers. It's a weak thing to turn to violence because of all your troubles but these people tend to feel that they have no real sense of family and if their own family is *beep* up, why should they care about anyone else? After awhile, you sort of become misanthropic so this kinda thing is easy for them. But I did find Mickey and Mallory's characters likeable; I mean the affection they had for eachother, him carrying her out of the snake pit and the scene where he comes to her cell. I mean, didn't you guys find that the tad bit touching? I gotta say this film is a romance in it's own rights and I liked this kind of romance far better than that whimpy the notebook crap.

And I am glad they got away in the end. There are people who wanted to see them die. Psshh, I wanna see YOU die!

So how likeable would you find them if they walked into your house and played a game to decide which of you they were going to kill?

Does your logic say that everyone who has been abused has the right to become a sadistic killer? It only took the first scene for me to want them to die. I walked out after Mallory burnt her mum alive, what sick awful film.

That was a pretty fvcked up scene, the movie is pretty raw and wild.

I didn't think Mickey and Mallory Knox were likeable, but that isn't a complaint. "Natural Born Killers" is a drama, which makes it OK if you don't like the characters. What matters is that they're compelling - and I think that they were.

because, well, they arent likable chracters. they arent the "evil likable" they are just "dumb sick scum" sort of character.

Interesting. A lot of people seem disregard what you said and simply hate Mickey and Mallory for being sadistic killers. IMO just because someone is a killer doesnt make them automatically a unlikable character. Take the Joker for instance, I love the joker, he´s sadistic, funny, manipulative, and pratically steals the show everytime, he´s bastard for what he did to Jason Todd and especially Barbara Gordon, but does make him a less likable character? Not for me. Granted i think he´s a likable character not a likable human being.

How can you like a serial killer no matter their troubled past?

You can still appreciate the film for what it is trying to say about American culture.
