Who would like to see a 4th!

Come on these films are just to damn brilliant to let them RIP. They could make the title a spoof title as the third one was final insult. They could work around that. Before Nielsen throws in the towl and David Zucker, Jerry Zucker, Patt Proft and Jim Abrahams quit.

reply

u got my vote

but i hope they are as good as the others

the first one was brilliant the second one was very good

and the third one was just "good"

^^

i hope if they are gonna make a new one its not "not that good" :p

A fourth would be great, as long as Zucker and Abrahms are in charge.

Oh, and I have a great idea for a tagline: "The longest trilogy ever"

reply

Ha ha ha, nikespike i love your idea! So in touch with the films!

And i totally agree with Zucker and Abrahms being in charge, it wouldnt be Naked Gun without them.

Maybe a petition is in order??

I love the first NAKED GUN and the sequel was good but after the very disappointing third film, I think they should quit while they're ahead.

reply

only one problem, can we get O.J. to be in the 4th one. I mean it seems like he's not too interested in acting anymore (I dunno why)

reply

The only acting he seems to be interested in is denying that he killed two people. Now that is an acting job! I doubt that they'd be able to sign him anyway. But it doesn't matter since there is no interest in doing another one. The third one was it!!!!

reply

Yes please the time is running out Leslie is already 78 please do one last Naked Gun movie!!

reply

He actually turned 80 on Feb 11, 2006.

reply

And now he's dead...

reply

It would, but they decided to stop after the third one. And what else could they do with these characters, anyway?

reply

i love these movies. Commentaries are amazing too. A sequel wouldn't be a good idea even though it sounds good. Leslie is too old now and it wouldn't be the same with anyone else

reply

Is that a joke?! Leslie's only 83 years young!

...I really hope there's a fourth one. Those movie's are laugh-riots.

"Mumble, mumble, mumble! You're a wonderful conversation companion!""

reply

I love all three Naked Gun films but a 4th one will just be overdoing it. Leslie Nielsen is way too old (I believe he turns 82 or 83 this year) and the ZAZ team haven't made a watchable film since BASEketball.

They concluded the series nicely with this film and doing another one 15 years later just strikes of desperation.

That doesn't mean it is going to be made. I will believe it when I see it. In the meantime, I ain't biting.

Agreed!

Leslie Nielsen R.I.P. A very funny man!

reply

Without Nielsen ?... Forget it man...

reply

I think they should do a retro-Naked Gun, set in the 60's when Frank Drebin was a rookie. I think that Steve Carell could carry this off pretty well. Take note Abrahams and Zuckers!

reply

Only Leslie Neilson is Lt Frank Drebbin for me.

I consider Spy Hard to pretty much be the 4th movie. I just pretend his love interest is Jane, or look at it like it's a Naked Gun prequel in some way. Kind of the same outlook from the Get Smart movie The Nude Bomb. It's not a bad film, it's funny, it just get's slammed because 99 was nowhere to be seen and Max had love interests... but ignore that, and it's still a pretty funny movie.

reply

Nielsen dead and O.J. in gaol. I think we can say there's not going to be a 4th op.

reply

I'd love another properly written parody, which has not been the case for several years. However, it should not feature Frank Drebin. Drebin passed on, along with the late, great Leslie Nielsen.

just as "family guy", you keep noticing later on things they have spoofed as you come across them after the spoof, that's a funny thing, experiencing the spoof before the original, on that subject since last time i saw this i've come to realise the stairs and baby carriages is a spoof from "the untouchables" which i noticed recently when i caught it airing on tv, that movie was pretty recent when this was made, a modern audience might miss how this spoofs some really old flicks like "white heat" and i'm guessing the villain's name is from "key largo". i can't say which of the naked gun movies i like best, but one thing about this is how it seems to stick a lot at one place, think about it, like the academy award scenes really takes up a large part of the movie (very funny though with great lines) as well as the prison story (with ben dover from "fletch" and "married with children"), while naked gun 1 and 2 are more mixed all over the place, though the baseball scene also drags on a bit, leslie nielsen kept appearing in movies where they seemed to reprise the role from this naked gun franchise and always referring to it in marketing, i only wish they had kept making more naked gun movies instead, sort of the same thing with "crocodile dundee" where the star keeps appearing in other things coming and going with a whisper while the crocodile dundee movies is the only thing that really sticks. here's an idea, if you crave more of "the naked gun", remember it's based on a 1980s tv series ("police squad", first movie even has it in the title) starring the same actor, i saw parts of it airing years ago, funny enough i can't remember a solitary thing. "loved you in coneheads".

crocodile tears came on,

miss your genuine way,
from when you were star of my play,
today im in shallow disgrace,
miss how to my soul you got near,
as im left here with actresses and crocodile tears.
