just as "family guy", you keep noticing later on things they have spoofed as you come across them after the spoof, that's a funny thing, experiencing the spoof before the original, on that subject since last time i saw this i've come to realise the stairs and baby carriages is a spoof from "the untouchables" which i noticed recently when i caught it airing on tv, that movie was pretty recent when this was made, a modern audience might miss how this spoofs some really old flicks like "white heat" and i'm guessing the villain's name is from "key largo". i can't say which of the naked gun movies i like best, but one thing about this is how it seems to stick a lot at one place, think about it, like the academy award scenes really takes up a large part of the movie (very funny though with great lines) as well as the prison story (with ben dover from "fletch" and "married with children"), while naked gun 1 and 2 are more mixed all over the place, though the baseball scene also drags on a bit, leslie nielsen kept appearing in movies where they seemed to reprise the role from this naked gun franchise and always referring to it in marketing, i only wish they had kept making more naked gun movies instead, sort of the same thing with "crocodile dundee" where the star keeps appearing in other things coming and going with a whisper while the crocodile dundee movies is the only thing that really sticks. here's an idea, if you crave more of "the naked gun", remember it's based on a 1980s tv series ("police squad", first movie even has it in the title) starring the same actor, i saw parts of it airing years ago, funny enough i can't remember a solitary thing. "loved you in coneheads".

crocodile tears came on,
left a bad taste,
if i was director,
i would run them off stage,
miss your genuine way,
from when you were star of my play,
today im in shallow disgrace,
miss how to my soul you got near,
as im left here with actresses and crocodile tears.
