Movies they spoof

just off the top of my head.....they copy beavis and butthead after seeing the test bomb going off and they are in the shelter.

I just noticed that they spoof Jurassic Park as well.

Well, there is Jurassic Park. There are also mentions of Malcolm X, the TV show Beavis and Butthead, and of course, the whole Oscar ceremony itself.

Their language is from a lot of film noir and gangster films from the 30s and 40s too.

i love all the old time movie references in this, some of the great lines include frank drebin telling the legendary actors at the awards "i loved you in coneheads", both that and the "thelma and louis" reference must have been almost right out of the cinema when this was made in 1994, rocco's comment to nielsen: "good thinking, kid.". this opens up pretty dark, but you already know what kind of movie it is being the third in the series, funny how there is a later scene again involving babies and carriages, like, we already got these so let's use them in another scene. there's no reason to complain since we got three of these (and based on a television series i never come across anymore), but since nielsen kept making similar goofy flicks like these, never coming close to being as funny, you sort of wish these sequels had just kept coming instead, but it just struck me for the first time how this franchise is set up to continue with a new cast since it ends with jane having a baby, it would be neat with some kind of sequel, i can't stand remakes. there seem to be an awful lot of adult humour in this though, it almost becomes too much and overshadows the comedy, the childish goofy parts are funnier and would make the movie family friendly, this really picks up at the prison, both this and the first movie though ends with a long dragged out finish with far in between great jokes, this with the academy awards and the first movie with the baseball scene. the casting of kathleen freeman is wild considering she's known for cute old hollywood movies and playing a nun in the blues brothers. a new thing i noticed after watching this movie once again, how the baby lets out massive vomit.
