Worth buying?

I enjoy the very few Vampire movies I've seen and I'm curious about purchasing this movie as I can't find it anywhere to rent. How is this movie in regards to other dramatic films like The Hunger, Cronos and Interview with the Vampire? Is it worth buying?

reply

on par with or far better in one case, rent it, buy it, steal it

totally agree, very much along the level of The Hunger, which is amazing, but not as good as Cronos and definitely better than Interview with the Vampire. I bought it last week at amoeba in los angeles, haden't seen it since it came out years ago, great buy, it still holds up and is very unique. photography is amazing. very sexy, noirish, cool, dark...

I've never seen it but it depends on the price for any DVD e.g. If a movie intrests you and Its AUD$25 rent it first if its AUD$2 then it works out cheaper to rent then buy.

Available as a 4 movie set released by Echo Bridge as The Vampire Collector's Set. I got this DVD at Kmart yesterday for about 5 bucks.

I suppose it's worth it for that price and 3 extra movies.

I have it for my Dracula collection, but wouldn't have been overly tempted to buy it otherwise, since apart from the beautiful Bkwck and White photography and a few great scenes, it left me cold.
