Not bad, just stupid.

The movie lost it's all credibility at the end when "The Reaper" brings the whole army to chase the disk and don't even recover it, just puts some bomb in a car and forgets about two people who were following the cop and the girl, not to mention that "the cop" didn't give her up on the bridge, just drove over his "colleague". Plane stupid.

The Reaper knew that the cop wasn't part of his team, hence why he appeared before the cop.

"You know why they call him the Reaper? Because his face is the last thing you see before you die"

Notice that ALL of the people who SAW The Reaper in the movie died or at least SEEMINGLY died. The man's presence is basically attempted murder.

So with that being said, the car bomb at the end was his plan to get rid of the cop and the diskette.

"That's the karma again, I didn't help Kenny so she beat me up with a telephone"

This is what I am saying, the whole movie was all about how the Reaper is killing people and how the disk is important to him, yet he doesn't kill the traitor and recover the disk which was PLAIN STUPID and made this movie such.

A major part of the problem was that director Waller wanted to use Guiness's scenes, even though they'd been filmed with an earlier differently - scripted movie in mind. That's why it's bizarre that the Reaper would ask Larsen to kill Billy, when he had all those other thugs standing around holding automatic weapons.

Larsen's character was just plain odd. He's supposed to be an undercover cop working for the Reaper, but then magically happens to be on hand at the police station when the Ambassador's secretary visits. Then when he helps Billy at her apartment, he drives her right past the police station, leading her into more danger without any decent back-up. No wonder Billy was pissed off. I would be too.🐭
