There are very few movies I quit in the middle. I'm a fan of film, American literature and JJL, so I thought this would be a fun watch. It was laborious, boring, slow, depressing. I'm very disappointed... although, as I say, I quit about half-way. Campbell Scott was the only bright spot for me.
Give it another try because it's worth it.

I agree. I only watched this film because Campbell Scott was in it and he did a marvelous job!

shareI watched it again recently. I remember half-watching it years ago when it first came out, but I didn't remember much about it. I really enjoy watching Campbell Scott and Jennifer Jason Leigh together in The Love Letter, so I wanted to watch this movie again.
It is not really a very fun movie to watch. There are just too many characters, and not enough time to flesh them out. Dorothy Parker is an interesting enough subject for a film, but still the movie doesn't seem to go anywhere.
