Are you talking about monkeys and chimps, or just monkeys? Hollywood tends to make a lot of movies with chimps, because they look like small hairy people and can wear clothes.
I vote for more monkeys.
I have always wondered why nobody has filmed Arthur Ransome's "Swallows and Amazons". It is about four siblings who spend the summer on an island in a lake, learn to sail, and have a "war" with some local children. They end up joining forces to solve a mystery involving a reclusive pirate. There is a monkey and a parrot. Ransome was writing about his own childhood in the '20s in Britain, and the story reflects a simpler time when children were given more freedom and responsibility than they are now.
sounds like a cool idea for a movie!
