Does Adam Sandler have a big role in this?

Does he?

I think Sandler is great in this movie even though he only has a supporting role. The songs he sings are hysterical. Definitely worth seeing if you are a Sandler fan.

Not really alot of screen time for Sandler, as he makes only one appearance in the first 35 or 40 minutes.

He ain't in it much but for the time he's in it hes class

it seemed to me he was playing billy madison almost, just the way he acted

Adam Sandler plays Billy Madison in every film he's in.

How can you document real life when real life's getting more like fiction each day?

reply

his role was not big (thank god). he is the one thing i would change about this movie. HE WAS ANNOYING!!!!

reply

Thankfully no. While he isn't as dreadful as he is in the films in which he "stars" he is the worst feature by FAR in this brilliant black comedy. It would be much better if he were not in it his character is entirely superfluous. It would be a VERY small rewrite to leave Sandler out of this and it would be much better for it.

reply

Yeah in this one he plays the same dork singing charactor that he played on SNL thankfully he was not a main charactor in this movie

Adam sandler didn't do a bad job, but he was a little out of place here. It might have been better without him, or with a different part.

reply

That's your opinion, everyone but one person seems to agree that even if he doesn't have a huge role it is a great one!

ruapehukid, you have given me a little hope. I am watching this movie for the first time, it is at the 30 minute mark. I must say I am having a hard time keeping my mind on the film. However if Sandler is not in the remainder of the film, I will try to stick it out.
For the life of me I do not understand why people feel that he is funny.
No hate for him, I just don't get it. He seems to use that fake voice in every thing that I have viewed. Maybe not, as I try hard not to watch, let alone pay money to view his films. The remainder of the cast is what attracted me to the movie. However, to each his own !

Not really until...halfway between the middle and the end.

reply

He Has One Scene at the beginning But towards the end hes there a bit more. His character is hilarious though.

This is probably the only movie I've EVER like Sandler in. Maybe Spanglish, too. Anyway, I think his character is so funny in this movie, the way he keeps strumming on his ukelele and singing lines in a horrible falsetto.

reply

i thought he was so funny in this movie. i think the movie would be lacking if he weren't in it. he kinda evens things out if you imagine that he and chris end up together. i also love how gracie dresses him at the end. that part always cracks me up. and when he sings the song about catherine and ends it with "i love grape jelly" i just about die from laughing. he is so funny! i'm not a huge steve martin fan or rita wilson fan, but this movie is so good because of the supporting cast. love love love madeline kahn. love it when she raps in the elevator.

If you like Adam Sandler you will like him in this movie -- if you don't, then good for you, and he thankfully doesn't have a big part. He just does his annoying falsetto singing a la SNL over and over. So funny...........not!!

reply

Lol, I like him and I liked him here, he and the transvesite were the best ones I thought. I watched this for the suicide/crisis call center aspect, which was worthwhile at least, funny in the satire type way. Wish there had been more of that aspect throughout.

I would say it is a good size role, he is not in a leading role as he was still starting out as an actor but he is still in it a lot and there are a lot of scenes he isn't, but you love it if you are a fan of his.
