What language were the natives on the island speaking? or was it a made up one?

I'm pretty sure it was made up. I mean, they started using broken English eventually.

Plus, Trevor "FAH-king" Goddard was speaking in an Australian accent the whole time, and he was British.

So what about that dance scene? What country was that based out of? I was under the asumption that the fake island was based off a South East Asian type culture, but from watching that dance scene, i'm no longer sure what it all was...

The islanders looked like some type of Malay/Indonesians. It was filmed in peninsular Thailand so the people were possibly some type of Malay from that area.
