Other than the whole 'alien' thing, the plot of AVATAR is strangely similar to this.
Anyone else think so?

YES!!!!

I was thinking this while i was watching it as well.... very very similar!!! Dolph Lundgren being Sam Worthington's character... i can see Catherine Bell's character Grace being like the female pilot Trudy as well.

Yes. Dances With Wolves also has an eerily similar plotline. Also The Last Samurai can be compared as well.
