Has anyone heard anything on a special edition DVD? The one that is out now is really thin on the extras and it being a Richard Donner film there has to be discs worth of goodies. Twelve years old and all we have is this crappy snap case version?!? I have twenty bucks to spend! Let's go Warner Bros!

I would LOVE a SE of this on dvd...Mel & Richard Donner work great together. This is one of those films that had to be so much fun to work on. Plus, since it had so many cameos on the riverboat, mostly country musicians, I would like to see a behind-the-scenes look when they all sang "Amazing Grace".
shareI too want a SE DVD with remastered picture and at least 5.1 Dolby Digital. The current DVD needs drastic improvement in those areas.

This topic was covered a few years back on this board. It pretty much ended when it was reported that WB had tossed everything out that was on the cutting room floor. The only thing they could really do is add some new interviews and I guess remaster it, but the picture is already pretty decent as well as the audio. They have already remasted once from the orginal laser disc version and to do it again for a fairly small audiance just would be worth the time and money needed for it. Still, if the interviews were good, I'd be willing to buy a new version for HD or BluRay.
