Either way it's almost laughable to most baseball fans outside of Cleveland or Minneapolis to think of either of them winning the series. Getting close, yes; exceeding expectations, absolutely but not being the World Champion. Not in this era of buying teams or needing an absolute united front office. Not even in the mid to late 90's as this trend was already hitting it's stride.

I don't think they did. The first movie showed them winning the division, the second movie showed them winning the AL pennant, but the third movie didn't show them winning the Series. It seemed like a natural order of progression.
