Are Any Of You....

Are any of you real life Indians fans? I'm not saying that even if you aren't, you can't enjoy this movie, just curious. My dad grew up very close to the Cleveland area, Cleveland to me is my second home. I was a big tomboy growing up, and I guess maybe still am to some extent. There's girls that chear for their teams just as loud as some guys. I can be one of those. I give the opposing right fielder (I sit behind Casey Blake, our right fielder) hell, it's great. Anyway, growing up, my dad always had Indians and Browns games on, so, I love everything Cleveland. I'm a diehard fan. Will love 'em till the day I die. We deserve a championship! I was listening to a Cleveland radio station the other day, and one of the radio djs said (and I have to agree) "If you live in or around Cleveland, and are a Cleveland sports fan, you've literally been beaten up over these teams." These teams (Browns and Indians) have handed us so many heartaches, but we still love 'em. It's hard seeing pretty much all the calls go the opposing team's way, etc... Anyway, GO INDIANS!

Yep, I completely agree with you. I've been living in Cleveland all my life, and I've always been a fan of Cleveland teams. Last year, when the Browns were losing game after game, I sat there and watched every last play. I grew up a fan of the Indians during their 40 year slump. Us Cleveland fans are a very emotional group of people. But I've always believed that our day is coming. We saw the Buckeyes win the national championship a couple years ago, something that I used to think I'd never see in my lifetime. If the Boston Red Sox can win a world series after 86 years, why can't the Indians can win one? Or the Browns a Super Bowl? When that day finally comes, all of Northeast Ohio is going to cave into the lake. Take it from another fan of Cleveland teams, our day is coming!!!

I sure hope so! The way we're playing now sure makes it look like we'll AT LEAST get to the playoffs! Grady Sizemore is heating up, Casey Blake (my favorite) is finally starting to swing his bat. It just ticks me off the people who say "I'm an Indians fan when they're good." Well, if you want them to win, you gotta support 'em. As I said before, I've been to several games already and go to every game possible. I don't care if they're in last place or first place, this team has become pretty much my passion!

Well, at least you don't bitch about it like Red Sox fans. I swear, until last year, all you heard was bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch.

Man, Both teams in Chitown are going longer than they went wihtout a winner, and they don't bitch 1/1000th as much. And, their fans don't give up on them when they suck. the Cubs ALWAYS sell out. They have the same thing as the Redsox, one of the last "historic" parks. The Redsox (and Yankees, by the by), have a worse average attendance than the Twins over the past 20 years. In short, Boston(and New York), can suck a fat one.

ALthough, the Whitesox can't bitch. They're truly cursed by the baseball gods. IT's their fault, for thier Blacksox throwing the series in 1908 (which....if my math is right, is...oh...10 years longer than Redsux "strife") Ok, back on the Redsux, they went the the series at least, they had chances. And dont' give me the Buckner excuse, you had another game. Just like I cannot really get all pissy about JEffrey Maiyer stealing the ALCS from Baltimore. ALthough, winning one game in New York is huge when you have three at home. But, anyway. Boston is bitches.

I'm pulling for a Cleveland Baltimore ALCS, with the Northeast sucking their thumbs after we whup thier asses.

You got your years mixed up. The Blacksox scandle was in in 1919. The last cubs WS title was in 1908. So the Redsox strife really was a year longer. But people forget that Ruth wasnt traded until 1920 i believe, so imo the "curse of the bambino" didnt really begin till then.

The Red Sox have a low average attendance because Fenway only holds about 37,000. If you look at the percentage over the last couple years, they sell out every game.

reply

First of all im a BOSOX fan, but i dont live in Bean town so i really cant argue with you about attendance but if your gonna sit here and say Cubs fans dont bitch LMAO youve apparently never been around any Cub fans.... and i could care less anyhow world champs 04, and 07 BABYYYYYYYY!!!!!!

And the Whitesox Series scandal was in 1919 not 1908 and it got what was considered one of the finest hitters in the game banned for life "Shoeless" Joe Jackson

Lifelong Reds fan from Columbus Ohio, but always wanted the Indians to win so they could face the Reds in the World Series. An I 71 Series would be great. But the teams can't seem to be great at the same time.

Well, here we are in 2016. Cavs won the World NBA Championship and the Tribe is in the World Series against...The Cubs!!! Who would've ever imagined?

And I just rewatched the original Major League movie. What a great lead in to this week here in Cleveland!
