I'm the expert-you're the novice

In this vibrant Hindi action drama, the superb Saif Ali Khan plays a Bollywood hero (the romantic type) and he wants to alter his screen image for the better.

So, he arranges to shadow policeman Akshay Kumar and gets associated in a case involving the woeful murder of Kumar's much loved brother.

The day after his birthday - he is gone. Cue anguish and tears.

As the plot sounds familiar, so seek no further than Mr J Badham's The Hard Way, which includes M J Fox as an actor shadowing a real-life cop ( played by James Woods) whom becomes his sort of assistant.

Director Sameer Malkan's visionary take on the way to unfold the story is similarly quick-paced, and also it has the usual extra large Indian helpings of revenge and romance.

Also keep an eye (or 2) out for a pre-fame claim, pre Big Brother, Shilpa Shetty in a duo part as both an witness and as a wonderful open air super street dancer.

Just noticed this is on channel 4, my virgin info thing says its a bollywood drama.
But when I first put it on it was Saif Khan talkin to a crowd of people just before some policemen arrive.

And heres me thinking that bollywood means all dancing, all singing love story.

it does, mostly, see how the film was made in '94 yet it looks like it was made in '64. that's Bollywood for you

This film is pretty funny. I just turned it over from when Caddyshack finished on BBC1. I may have to hunt down a copy of this...

What's with those shoulder pads??? The film and fashions look straight out of 1984.

It's good to see Shilpa doing what she is actually famous for, shame a woman of such culture was publicly subjected to the gutteral gruntings of that evil, racist bitch 12 years later. She is going mental on a sofa (in the film) while I type this, why didn't she use that acting ability to stand up for herself in the house?

Good god, the girl paying Shvangi (sp) is 13 years old. I almost feel wrong for watching this now.

I love when Channel 4 show these Bollywood films ... and I recognised Shilpa right away.

"Oh dear! I seem to have got a little plastered!" - Carry On Up The Khyber.
