True Feminist

Love or hate Madonna you can't ignore her. No matter who helped her, she was the driving force and she is a force of nature.

Why a true feminist? She's smart, sexy and ambitions. She knows what she wants and nothing gets in her way. All the things men are praised for. But Madonna does not become a man in the process. She has the strength and intelligence to be successful and keeps her femininity. I think it's great that she never loses her focus and sexuality.

She's an easy target but if she wasn't who she was we wouldn't know who she is.

Congratulations...you've just described most of the pole-dancers in the world.

Haha James is right! The message is all wrong here. Madonna's dad wants to help her but she would rather whore herself out to get the money. I'm now watching the scene where she sleeps with a drummer for the purpose of getting him fired from the band. My interpretation of a "true feminist" wouldnt use sex to get what she wants. They would be more dignified.

You need to look up words before throwing them around like so many clichés.

Feminism (noun): the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men.

What you're describing here, and I'm not getting into a debate about whether it's true or not because it doesn't matter, is a strong independent woman.
A feminist is someone who is advocating for (other) women's right and equality. I don't ever recall Madonna even mentioning women's rights, let alone advocating for them.

I guess there's something to be said about leading by example but that hardly changes the situation of women in the world. And no I don't mean Lady Gaga.
