Director C. Courtney Joyner and Allison Mackie cousins?

I saw this on VHS a very long time ago, so I cannot swear that my memory is correct about this.

On the video, they had attached to it a behind-the-scenes-making-of-the-film with an interview with who I 'think' was the director. At some point during the interview, I believe he said that Allison Mackie who played Ms. Marlowe in the film was his cousin.

Anyone else remember that? I googled their names together and never found it mentioned.
