Anyone else see this movie

I thought it was cool, the ending needed work but it was still good.

I actually saw it last night for the first time. I thought it was cute and I will watch just about anything with Anthony LaPaglia in it. I just found out that him and Gia Carides are married in real life which kind of makes the movie sweeter.

One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach, all the damn vampires

I'm finally catching this at 4 a.m. on EPIX. I'm not sure I'll get all of the way through, but I think it might be on EPIX On Demand, giving me other opportunities to watch it. It's being aired as "Paperback Romance", which caught my attention because I seem to recall another, much-earlier film with that title. My mind may be playing tricks on me though.

I thought it sounded like an interesting premise, and I kept trying to catch it, but my timing has been off. Since it's been interesting so far, I think I might check On Demand.

I didn't know till I visited the site that the stars are married in real life (rather, would be married after this).

I'm looking forward to adding this to my film journal very soon. Right now, I might be far too in need of sleep.

EDIT: Hmmm... I wonder if someone was inspired by the Kristy McNichol movie "Just the Way You Are". In it, she plays a concert musician who has braces on her leg, which she believes gets in the way of romance. When she decides to go on vacation, if I recall correctly, she has a doctor put a cast on her leg so that she can pretend she was injured in a skiing accident. She believes that this will give her an opportunity to meet someone who isn't taking pity (what she believes happens otherwise). Just a thought, as she allows them to believe the same about her injury in "Paperback Romance" (minus being at a ski resort).

I saw it about ten years ago and liked it a lot. Very engaging story and well acted by all.
