This movie is awful. I just watched it. The acting is horrible, the plot is poorly threaded together, and the whole thing is just a bad excuse to make Waynes look good. Eff this movie.

shareI agree, it has that great almost timeless comedy, I seen it so many times and its still so funny. I don't think the comedy was mean spirited. Kinda offensive yeah but it was 1994, that was acceptable than sadly, but I don't think it was meant that way.

Just watched 30 minutes of this POS last night. I wanted to gough my eyes out and then I remembered I had a remote control. As for Jada who is a very good, but not great actress ... my guess is that she'd rather forget she ever agreed to do this.
When a great actor male or female takes a character and is so very believable then they have won the day. I sat there in total disbelief that she had taken this role and was miss used as an actress. Just was not her character, remember her characters "woo", "stoney", "niobe" much better use of her skills.
Was this movie ever in theaters? I hope not, and Wayans should have been banned from directing and writting ever again.
You can tell that keenan took out a lot of loans and pulled a lot of favors to get this made. He probably thought it would revitalize his career. What was he thinking?

all the comments were made by the same keenan hater...what a suprise. I thought the movie was really funny and all in all pretty well made. I would give it a 6 or 7 out of 10. Jada was great in it and so was Charles Dutton.

Okay, while I don't think that this was a complete failure, I don't think that it's garbage neither. Every director, writer-director has a dud or at a movie that's not their best in their repertoire. And how many critics on here actually have written things that were always well received? (Hears Crickets) With that said, this movie is FUNNY, and I do think that the stunts could have been done a little better but I think that they did a nice job with what they had. I would give this a 3 out of 5 stars because the story was cohesive enough to follow and kept a nice blend of action and comedy. I liked Jada and Charles Dutton though when I see it I wonder why Dutton was in it but the film wasn't hurt by having him. All in all, this is one of his first projects so you need to cut the man a little slack and it seemed to have made enough money for it to have been a profit (Wikipedia)
i agree, i thought it was a good (although not great) movie especially since it came out in the 90's.
shareThis is a quality movie. It's not some high brow, intellectual art house movie. It didn't win any oscars and it didn't change movie history. It's just GOOD FUN!!! I really like this movie, it's funny and some of the action is ridiculous. It's well made on it's own terms and does what it's supposed to do. Some people need to stop judging EVERY movie like it's The Godfather. I love those type of movies more than any others but I can also switch off, relax and enjoy a movie like this for what it's meant to be.....fun. That simple.

Well I thought Jada Pinkett was the best part of the film. She was thoroughly entertaining. Funny, cute, sassy-she was great. Sure, this is not the best movie ever but it's entertaining enough.
