What an unnecesary mess this remake was! It was boring & slow. Beatty & Bening had no on-screen chemistry. Katherine Hepburn looked like she was taken out of mothballs, dusted off, & propped up. Poor Taylor Dayne's scenes ended up on the cutting room floor. There's really no reason to watch a love story with an old goat (Beatty), when it's been told already (and much better) . Steer clear of this putrid snoozefest!

shareIt isn't that this isn't a sweet story. It's that this is an awful version of it. God knows "An Affair to Remember" was gorgeous and classic. But "Love Affair"...I mean, the way they delivered the lines made me cringe. I just feel this remake was unnecessary in the first place, but I could have tolerated it and probably enjoyed it if it hadn't been so...dry. And just wrong all around.

I though Annette Bening was great in this movie, but Warren Beatty was just a mess. Harrison Ford would have been a perfect choice back then.
