vhs or dvd for Patrick Keiller's LONDON

Please tell me if you know of LONDON has been placed on vhs or DVD. I would very much like to have a copy of my own, as it is a brilliant "fiction-documentary" film.

I believe it's already available on VHS, but I was at a screening introduced by Patrick Keiller last week and he said the DVD should be released in a few months - circa May 2005 - provided he can resist the temptation to interfere with the cover design, apparently. Worth waiting I would say.

Many thanks! I imagine it's going to be different here, though (I assume you're in the UK), because the best video club in NYC doesn't have it. Maybe they'll get the DVD if it's made. I've had it as a 'favourite search' on eBay for over 6 months, and there's been no response at all. I am going to keep my eye out for any new films of his, as 'London' is like some memory now. Even when it showed at Film Forum for 2 weeks in 1994, hardly anyone was there and I know no one else who's seen it. However, it's unique in my experience.

The sequel "Robinson in Space" is also worth seeing, some people think it's even better.

I've ordered American DVDs from US Amazon by mail order; you could do the same from Amazon.co.uk (or another company) once the DVD is out. DVD's cost more here of course, plus the exchange rate is bad, but if you like the films it may be worth it. You'll need to check it'll play on a US DVD player; the formats may be different (NTSC/PAL etc.)

You could also check out early Peter Greenaway movies, particularly "The Falls" which has a lot in common, stylistically.

London and Robinson in Space are now out as a double disk set on region 2 DVD, there are no extras (unless you count subtitles), but it does contain an interesting booklet.

It set me back £19.99, and was worth every penny, I have them on VHS, but they were begging for a digital release.
