Another obliquely Dull film with russian mobsters

Probably the worst review of a film I have ever read. Now and again I am surprised by the absolute infinite lack of verbage one can think up to berate a film. At least if it was a film without an ounce of redeemable story line, abysmal acting, and a shere girth of suckitude, I would see where a review like that would be warranted.

This film is fantastic. If you enjoy a dark tale about dark people in very regrettable circumstances that doesn't give you a warm cuddly feeling and haunts you when you try to go to sleep....buy it. You'll want to see it again, I assure you.

"When a boy is 6 his father can do anything. When he is 12 his father can do almost anything. When he is 16 his father can do nothing. When the boy grows to 24 he thinks his father may know something. When the boy is 40 he wishes he could ask his father."

I think it is one of the best Hollywood films of the 1990s. I give it 9/10. I actually prefer it to Gray's second film The Yards.

I won't say that I liked this movie too much but it had potential, could have used more work, but not a 1/10. I give the movie a 6/10, and a 7/10 for the effort put into it. It was made by a guy who wasn't russian and he grasped the way Russians live here in Brighton beach pretty damn well. He way off on the gangsters, but does not deserve such a low score and a one sentence berating review. Another review made by an idiot Enough said.

Dumbass. It's one of the best films of the 1990's. Possibly in top 01. An awesome goddamn thing.
