Wouldn't Seattle get home field advantage for the one game playoff?
they were winning the division and were already guaranteed a playoff spot right?

That is a good question. I've always wonderd how home field advantage in playoff games like that were decided.

The first tie-breaker is usually who won the season series, so the Twins probably had that advantage over Seattle.

Actually, I think the league does a series of coin flips a few weeks in advance between any teams that could potentially tie. The Twins won their toss against the Mariners.
