The Twins Rule

One of the reasons I like this movie is because it centers around my beloved Minnesota Twins. It may be a little to corny, being that it's a kids flick. But everyone, young and old, can enjoy this movie. Plus, it doesn't end the way most sports movies do (with the team winning at the end)!

The only other baseball movie that beats this is Bad News Bears (original).

Take it easy on us Minnesotan's/Twins fans chitowngirl! So what, we're having a tough 2nd half of the season, and just because the White Sox are finally having a decent season (in what, the first time in the past 30 years?), that gives you a reason to bash the midwest's favorite baseball team? (That's right, we have dedicated fans all over the midwest) I mean, c'mon! We're dramatically underpaid compared to the other 30 major league teams and look at our success in the past 4 seasons...and Torii Hunter is not our entire team, we have a whole lineup of guys who step up and fill his shoes just great, we should have at least 5 guys at the All-Star game every year! Just look at what we did the the Red Sox this weekend...12-0 on Friday night! So think before you do all your "bashing" and please don't use ALL CAPS! IT'S AS IF YOU'RE YELLING! Just you wait til the '06 season, the Twinkies will be back for their revenge!

...And the Twins sweep the White Sox in 3 games!...haha! How do you like that Chicago?!? We've won 8 of our last 10, we're only 3 games behind in the wild card race, and we're closing in on it fast! We might even catch the White Sox, it's simple, they lose 10, we win 10 (at this rate, it's VERY possible! :D) And to top it all off, we're the hottest team in the MLB right now! (so says ESPN news) GO TWINS!

Oh really, then how come that they beat them yesterday t-2, and as I am writing htis post they are winning 1-0 in the 5th inning, maybe they don't stink as you think, maybe it is the White Sox that to. I haven't really sene them play in real life. The White Sox haven't beaten a team since before Boston, yest I am aware of how many wins they got this year, but last year they finished in 2nd place, like they had done before, don't go bosbting about the White Sox yet, they might fall out of first place before it it is even over.

How is John Gordan in real life, I don't get to listen to thier games, and I know that he is thier real life broadcaster, and he plays thier ficitius broadcaster in the film, that is good they made a film, which center you team, they did with Rookie of the Year, and they did the Chicago Cubs, but oh there is not one that has the Chicago White Sox has the main team, is their, and who knows if Sox fans will get a film to have thier team as the main team.

There's Eight Men Out and, to a lesser extent, Field of Dreams. Of course those only focus on the 1919 Sox.

How about the 2006 season here for the Twins. 8 Games below .500 and now leading the wild card by a game and a half and closing to within a game and a half of the Tigers. With Santana being the most dominant pitcher in the leauge and getting the second most dominant pitcher in the league back this Wednsday, who's going to stop us?

I agree with you Blade....this is a wonderful movie. I dont know how old you are but I'm 40 and i consider this one of my favorites. By the way, John Gordan is just like he is in the movie. His famous catch phase when someone hits a homer is "TOUCH 'EM ALL, (PLAYERS NAME)" and he says it in the movie. I love it!! By the way, is it me or does this movie also contain the sexiest players I've ever seen in a sports flick?

reply

I agree, the Twins are my favorite team in all of sports. I just wish Lou Collins actually played for the Twins. They could use some offensive help
