LOL I didn't know Burger King did the promotion. I thought McDonald's did for some reason.

Coolcinema442000, I remembered. I had lunch at Burger King that summer. I eagerly opened my toy package hoping to find Simba, and was lucky enough to get him.

reply

I remember. Weren't some of them like Pez dispensers or something?

I remember a lot of those McDonalds and Burger King toys. I used to collect them as a kid, lol.

reply

LeiaOfLothlorien, the toys weren't candy dispensers, but wound up and walked or crawled. Simba came in a sitting position, so he probably slid across a flat surface.

reply

Oops. I must have been thinking of actual Pez dispensers, lol. I do remember the toys, though. Some of them talked/sang, right? Maybe there were different toys for the different movies and we're getting mixed up? XD

reply

There probably were talking and singing toys for The Lion King considering its popularity, but those had to have been general ones in toy stores. The toys for this movie that came in Burger King Kids Club meals were miniature plastic animals that wound up.

reply

Oh well. I do still remember the wind up toys.
Maybe the singing ones for for a sequel??

reply

I would not have expected a fast food chain to distribute singing toys, but never saw the items that were specific to a sequel to The Lion King, so you could have been right.
