Did Timon and Pumbaa know about Mufasa's death?

Did Simba ever tell them about it?

reply

I doubt he did and Timon when they first really met didn't really seem that interesting, cause you have to remember he did say "something terrible, but I don't want to talk about it", and Timon say "great we don't want to hear about it." Pumbaa seemed to be more caring, and I know that they did the move The Lion King 1 1/2, but I don't even remember if they covered that part in the movie. But they did explain that they were there the whole entire time.

Timon was also pretty surprised to learn that Simba was royalty, suggesting Simba had told him little or nothing about his background.

reply

Like everyone else, Simba did not tell Timon and Pumbaa about Mufasa's death and his guilt over it. Timon didn't care to listen to it, and years later, they were shocked to learn he was royalty. I assume Simba probably explained his past to them after he became king.

reply

Not until the end of the first movie, at the very least. Timon unintentionally upsets Simba while he was talking about his father in the stars, but that implies they don't know Mufasa is dead. They find out later he should be king, though.

reply

No, because Simba never told that he descended from royalty. This is why Timon is shocked after the encounter with Nala.

reply

True. Timon and Pumbaa never even met Mufasa in the film. Yeah, Timon making that snarky comment about the great kings of the past watching Africa's inhabitants from Heaven above sort of implies that before Nala turned up and met Timon and Pumbaa, they obviously didn't know about Mufasa's death. But again, Timon and Pumbaa never met Mufasa. Personally, I'm kind of surprised Simba never told them. Even it had been explained through Simba embracing the "No Worries" saying, he still could've told them because he could've told someone somewhere along the lines that his father died when he was young even before he mentioned it to Rafiki.

Yep and plus they didn't even come into the story until after he died so there is no way they could have met him because they befriend Simba while he was a cub on the run. I mean it does seem unbelieveable about a bunch of royal dead guys watching them. And as far as I am aware of they weren't aware that imbue was royalty, and it also seems that Simba even forgot about that, expect for he didn't forget about him believing he was guilty for his father's death.

As shown in The Lion King 1 1/2, they actually did encounter Mufasa while they were in the Elephant Graveyard, watching him take on the Hyenas, but I dunno if they'd seen him atop of Pride Rock when they were walking amongst the crowd of animals viewing Simba upon being born be held up (they didn't even recognise Simba when finding him).

reply

I might be the minority, but I don't really count Simba's Pride or Lion King 1 1/2 as canon. I don't consider any of the Disney sequels canon for that matter.

If Bon Scott of AC/DC was still alive, he would be a Brony.

I will have to go back and rewatch The Lion King 1/2 at some point

reply

Maybe after he took over as king. But it is obvious he never told him when he was staying with them otherwise they wouldn't have laughed when he explained what "someone" had once told him about the stars.

Little Mikey Myers that lived across the street.

reply

And you are a good point that either he forgot who had told him, or scared to admit who told him, or the fact that he is royal.

reply

No, they brainwashed him with the Hakuna Matata song, so he tried to run away from it.

Hense why he didn't want to come back and be King when Nala arrived.
