Is this actual sequel?

Seems nothing connected with the original and didn't explain how Leprechaun back from the dead. None of the first film's other characters are mentioned.

I believe there is a theory that each movie has a different leprechaun, only they got the same actor to return to play each leprechaun. Probably because it's hard to find someone like that, especially in Hollywood. Not sure what we are supposed to call them now with everything being so PC and stuff. So you can't really keep finding someone else to play a leprechaun, especially if they want to go with that height for the leprechaun. I think the actor does well as the character too, so that's another guess as to why they kept bringing him back and making it seem like the same leprechaun. But I believe there is a theory that there is more than one leprechaun out there. They just got the same actor to play each one.

Oh wow, this was useful to read. Thanks!

I just found another theory that maybe the movie that takes place in space is chronologically the first movie/prequel and there is some time travel involved. At the end of the space one, the Leprechaun gets blown up. All his pieces land on earth and regenerate over time and stuff and each movie is a different part of the one leprechaun regenerating over time. I kind of like the whole theory of it being a different leprechaun but it's the same actor slightly more than this other theory I found.

Thank, it could be true! I enjoyed the first two films, I'm still looking forward for the rest.

This is one of those, "turn off the noggin and enjoy the show" situations. Leprechaun should never have existed, let alone be a series. But, it's entertaining and silly. So treat it like Son of Frankenstein and look past the anomalies.

I kind of see the Leprechaun movies as something similar to the Child's Play/Chucky movies. I enjoyed the first three, but after that I don't care for them. Just recently watched a couple because of St. Patrick's Day. First three I liked, but after that I don't really want to watch them because they go off in crazy directions and then you got that weird one called Origins. Leprechaun Returns was okay, but I don't know if I'll re-watch it. But it's the same with Child's Play/Chucky. I like the first three Chucky movies aka Child's Play 1, 2, & 3, but after that they go in a different direction. They mainly turn into comedies. Curse Of Chucky was okay and tried to get things back on track with it being horror, but Cult Of Chucky just ruined things and made me not want to watch Curse Of Chucky again. Bride Of Chucky, I'm kind of on the middle on. I was in elementary school when that came out and all the kids were talking about it and stuff so there is SOME nostalgia factor to it for me, but it was more comedy than horror and then there is doll sex. But yeah. I can only watch the first three Leprechaun movies. After that, I don't like the direction they go in.

When it comes to Bride of Chucky, It pairs well with Freddy Vs. Jason. I don't see either as a part of their series. I see them as goofy side movies of classic monsters.

Having seen all six of the Warwick Davis' Leprechaun films, I can tell you that continuity isn't great.

As said, there is a theory that each movie involves a different leprechaun. It's up to you whether you choose to believe this, but it makes about as much sense as anything else.

Slasher movies such as this often have pretty ropey continuity. So, even if you believe the second one is the same leprechaun as the first, don't sweat it too much. Just enjoy it for the silly entertainment that it is.
