anyone see this in theatres back in 94?

I do. I only remember my uncle being giddy because the chick showed her tits.

I was the only one in the theater for a 10 p.m. showing. They didn't even bother running coming attractions, they just started the movie up (only time I've ever experienced that).

I never got to see this in theaters, as I would've been too young at the time. But I do vividly remember having this as my first experience with a horror film after seeing part of this when I was about five or so in the mid-nineties.

The sequel had just come on video and some family friends had it on the TV with me in the room. I was sitting on the couch and the scene where the Leprechaun removes the gold from the old man's stomach was playing when my Mom suddenly entered the door, freaked out, dropped her groceries and threw a blanket from the back of the couch right over me. The blanket though was one of those yarn quilts with the big holes in it so it actually didn't end up doing any good at all and I could still see just as clearly 
