Jean-Hugues Anglade's performance is
magnetic, funny, charming, electric, cute, psychotic and deadly all at the same time .. his portrayal of Eric is the only saving grace in an otherwise utter piece of crap of a movie.

Agree. Brilliant performance. One of my favourites. I have watched this film numerous times since the mid 90's.
Another film in which he is spectacular is called "Queen Margot".
If you haven't seen it then do yourself a favour and watch it.
