That joke...

I remember the general outline of that joke (and if you have seen the film you know what joke I mean) but what were the exact words used in the film? Anyone have it transcripted?

reply

Its not a funny joke. "IL MANGE, IL MANGE, IL MANGE!"

Here you go

CTRL+F to search the page, search "joke" to get to that part quickly.

Au contraire, mon frair, I think that the joke is mildly amusing.

Funnier than the joke, was the translation on the subtitles in the UK. According to them the convict wanted to lick a belly button.

Now I may not know much French, but even I know what "il mange" and "le chat" mean...

reply

^ I noticed that too, I've got the R1 dvd but the pal vhs and recalled the joke was about licking belly button... lmao

reply

I just watched it again and it was changed to eating pussy....not sure why....

reply

It is supposed to be "pussy" not "navel". The guy telling the joke in French says "le chat" which referes to the female genitalia. If it were "navel" then the joke doesn't even make sense. How could a navel hold bits of egg, beef, and corn without someone noticing?

I guess that was an attempt at censorship. But why anybody would censor that particular item I can't imagine, considering the other content of the film, nudity, strong language, drugs, violence, crime, general mayhem, and a dead cat.

reply

Thanks for clearing that up....however, being as fat as the whore is supposed to be, the joke would stll work were it her navel....however, it does work better being her vagina....

reply

Why would the brothel owner then refer to the act as perverted? Seems par for the course for a brothel...odd joke.
