Xian?

I own and have seen all the Kickboxer films many times. I like them all. (except the 5th) Even though this is cheesey, I like it.

I always wondered something. Xian went through alot with David. Helping him walk, training him, being there when he fought Tong Po, going through all that trouble in Brazil, then all of a sudden in 4 he disappeared. Where the hell did he go?

He went through alot with David. (more then with Kurt) Also he was David's manager. Why wasen't he there for David? Also why didn't David tell Xian that he was out of prison?

I wondered the same thing myself. All I could come up with is maybe Xian is holding the fort down while David's away. Like taking care of David's gym.

Xian is dead. Tong Po says it himself. Something along the lines of, "Xian, because of me, you are dead."

That's not right. He was talking about his wife and it happened to sound like Xian.

Tong Po actually married? I thought she was just another one of his mistresses...

besides, he was literally looking at a photo of Xian when he said, "Xian, because of me you are dead."

The name was Sian, it sounds like Xian and is almost spelled the same. Her picture with Tong Po can also be seen briefly at Tong Po's place around the beginning during the credits.

Until I watched it with captions I thought her name may have been Siam.

Reboot, restart or re-imagining is another word for remake

This movie pretends that Kickboxer 3 never existed. At the very beginning it only talks about the events of the first two movies, and brings back Tong Po as the main villain. It's nothing more than a low budget Enter the Dragon rip-off, and is an insult to the series. They made Tong Po a drug kingpin in Mexico. What's up with that? The Tong Po storyline was over in Kickboxer 2, and there was no reason to bring it back. Kickboxer 3 was a good sequel. David and Xian are a team, and Kickboxer 4 should have been another action adventure with them.
