wahhh, wahhhh, I'm a victim! waaaahhhhhh

Please tell me I am not the only one who was so completely annoyed by Bridget Fonda's character. I was with her up until she was bickering with the cab driver over change for a $20 at the boat. After Nic Cage gives her two million dollars, lol. B!tch, I've filed bankruptcy and been divorced too. Pull up your big girl panties and move the eff on.

Maybe the guy was a scrappy cabbie and didn't deserve a big tip.

reply

maybe the cabbie incident was an "ah ha" moment for her. live and learn.

reply

she and nicolas cage character annoyed me.

i was with the wife. if my husband and i won the lottery and then he has the nerve to tell me he is going to give half to a waitress because he didnt give her a couple dollars tips. I WOULD BE SO MAD.

reply

Haha, right??? He gives half of it to some chick he met??

reply

no no, you didn't understand that scene, you only know that she's a nice person, she pays for peoples subway rides, takes the kids to play baseball, shes kind in the cafe....

what that scene is showing you, is although she has 2 million bucks, she still is careful about money, because shes lived her entire life like that, she doesn't accept it. the boat is full of millionares and shes worried about not spending too much.

reply

I think the deal with the cab driver was that he knew she was the waitress who just won a million dollars and was trying to take advantage of her by saying he had no change for a $20. Jerk!! The scene could have been played better by the actors, but please...what cabbie doesn't have change for a $20?

reply

Old habits die hard.
Shes not used to be rich yet.

Some people do not want to give too much change, even if they are rich. I know that if I had that money, I wouldn't want to give a cab driver too much money. There is that saving side of me.
