Plot Recollection

so I read the questions about plot elements of the story. i remember this film very well due to having a recording of it when i was younger i watched a lot so im adding all things i know about the film and if anyone else can remember more of what i missed please add a reply with the missing information.

Here’s as much of the plot as I can remember after seeing this not that long ago (and I had a recording of it I watched several times) ill have it in two parts: what’s going in the world, and what’s going on with the characters’.

The world:
In the “near future” scientists create a breakthrough drug that reverses ageing (several of the main characters are actually in their 60’s despite looking 30ish). However some people mutated into aggressive caveman type characters called RECs in the show due to the mutation being triggered by a recessive dna strand.
As the outside world was polluted and died several domed city’s were built to protect normal citizens. And a military group called RCF (Recessive Control Force) was created. They venture out into the wastelands to track RECs and tag them as well as study them. They are only allowed to attack them defense in hopes of discovering a cure. Each member is given an “Immunovac” shot to protect them for up to 48 hours from the elements outside the domed cities. Breeding is controlled by the gems on your chest to identify humans you can “safely breed” with to prevent the birth of more RECS or other genetically inferior humans.

The Characters’: (major plot)
On a standard mission to the wastelands Andy Salle is attacked by RECS and is separated from his team lead by Col. Tom Valdoon (who is having an affair with the teams doctor Sammy Helding). Also on this voyage they find and rescue Sally who is later found to be Sammy’s sister. Upon returning to Island City after not Finding Andy on a sweep, Tom is informed he is getting a half REC as a temporary replacement for Andy (although his superiors believe Andy’s dead due to his Immunovac running out.) After a regroup the team again heads out to find Andy only to be attacked by RECs during the struggle Michael Mindy (the Half REC) has to kill a REC attacking Col. Tom. After subduing the REC Michael uses his heightened senses to track down the missing Andy before he passes from infections from the wasteland. After they return to island city Andy is reunited with his wife and child.

Sub-plots:
The relationship of Col. Tom and Dr. Helding despite Helding being married to man who unlike her chose to remain “natural” and not take the age reversing drug and thus looks to be his age of 60ish.

The rescuing of Helding’s sister in the wasteland and her attraction to Col. Tom. The “joke” on her at the end of the move is that her DNA color implant is different from Toms.

Lt. Mindy’s Desire to kill RECs over trying to subdue them due to his mother having been rapped by a REC and his friend ship with Greg 23 due them both being “freaks”.

Gregg 23 dealing with his other Clones (as he is an failed experiment in creating perfect clones of a genus, all of whom have some kind of flaw such as his intense lack of coordination) who are jealous of him for being successful in the RCF while they are considered outcasts

Connie and Ty Salle dealing with the loss of Andy and pressuring Col. Tom to keep up the search.
