IF Louis was soooo miserable....

Why didn't he end it? Take a flying keap into a big ray of Sunlight?

reply

He didn't have the will to kill himself. It mirrors how he didn't have the will to end his life when he lost his wife/daughter when he was still a mortal.

Maybe he didn't even really want to die. Remember, Lestat was originally going to kill Louie. When he attacked him by the boat when they first meet, he asks if Louie he wants to die and Louie replies "no" before Lestat drops him in the water.

Same reason most miserable people don't kill themselves.

The survival instinct is a fundamentally compelling baseline.

Exactly. The will to live in us is so strong, as bad as things get we carry on. Louis always clung to the mortal side of himself too, so that will to live would be in him. He also wanted to take care of Claudia. That was why Lestat made her, to keep Louis close.
