than the original. In the end of this one, they, actually mom, nails the killer and stays with Marek. In the Pledge he never knew that he was right and the mom & daughter abandoned him to his alcoholic psychosis

What are they doing? Why do they come here?
Some kind of instinct, memory, what they used to do.

This is NOT the original. The original was the 1958 "It happened in Broad Daylight" (Es geschah am helllichten Tag), a German-Swiss production starring Heinz Rühmann. Gert Frohe played the killer, it won him the part in Goldfinger. That film is superior to all other versions that followed.
