Video game in opening scene

Anyone know what video game Pauly Shore and Andy Dick are playing in the opening scene?

Its a tank game, very low res and might be a 3D0 title.

Looking at that scene reminds me of the SNES I used to play all the time.

Lori Petty = good movie

The game is called "Return Fire" for the 3DO

I have been looking for the name of this game forever. I saw this movie on tv the other day, and it sparked my memory to look at IMDB. Thanks Nickkogon!

I was going to reply to you, and yes it's "Return Fire" but I didn't sign up fast enough.

The game is Return Fire for the 3DO. There are a few emulators for the 3DO out there, and if you can't find a ROM image of the game you can usually get it cheap off eBay. You should know that the game in the movie is not the same as the real version. When you die the 3DO logos do not appear on the screen, and the skeleton does NOT say "You are Dead". IIRC the interface is slightly different also. Great game, great soundtrack (i.e. when you fly the helicopter it plays Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries).

Friggin' awesome!

Some other 3DO titles to try:
Escape from Monster Manor
Return Fire: Maps O' Death (expansion)
Shockwave
Shockwave: Operation Jumpgate (expansion)
Shockwave 2: Beyond the Gate
Road Rash
Gex
Captain Quazar
Hell: A Cyberpunk Adventure
Need for Speed
Killing Time
Space Hulk: Vengence of the Blood Angels
Wolfenstein 3D

ahh - good times.

Actually the guys in the movie were playing the Demo version of Return Fire, so thats why the skeleton pop up. I know this because I have the game in my old cd.

I LOVED my 3D0.
Return Fire was great, played the heck out of it.
Road Rash hit its pinnacle on the 3D0, incredible soundtrack, funny cut scenes.
Captain Quazar was a hoot, we went crazy with it on 2 player.
D&D Slayer was pretty fun as well.
3D0 was just too darn expensive at the time, but there were some great games.

Does anyone know of a similar game like this one but in the arcade game format? My mom's friend had one in his basement, but we lost contact and it's a game that I loved playing. This game looks very similar, but I'm not sure it's the same one. If someone could help, I would appreciate it.
